Posted July 4Jul 4 Losing someone suddenly vs. slowly. what’s harder? For me I think it's both. I lost my mum, MIL and brother all suddenly and my younger brother died of kidney failure at the age of 15. even though my brothers died years ago, it still affects me to this day.My MIL was recent, and my own mum died very suddenly.
July 4Jul 4 I think either way is hard. No matter if it were sudden death or a slow one, you're never really ready to say goodbye.

July 6Jul 6 Absolutely agreed, all loss is hard no matter if it's sudden or slow. I will say that slow has been tremendously difficult to deal with, whereas losing someone quickly at least I only had to grieve them once. Losing my mother to dementia has been awful, as I've had to grieve the loss of my mother in terms of her personality and "being" and then there's still the actual loss to process when it happens. It's...a lot. So I see both sides and I agree that both sides are extremely difficult.
